Pre-Operative Preparation:
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the evening prior to your surgery date.
- Medications can be taken with small sips of water.
- There is no need to shave prior to surgery.
- Try to avoid smoking on the day of surgery
- Avoid the use of Cannabis products for 24 hours prior to surgery
- Please inform Dr. Grober if using Ozempic (semaglutide) or similar types of medications... these should be stopped 14 days prior to surgery
- To avoid cancellation, please arrive on-time to surgery.
- Dr. Grober's office or the hospital will contact you in advance to inform you of your surgery time & arrival time.
Post-Operative Instructions:
- Prescriptions for pain medicine will be provided.
- An athletic supporter or tight supportive underwear is recommended for 7-10 days.
- Patients can shower after 48 hours. Baths should be avoided for 2 weeks.
- All bandages can be removed after 48 hours in a hot shower.
- All stitches will dissolve on their own.
- It may take 3 - 4 weeks for stitches to completely dissolve.
- Sexual activity can begin after 2-3 weeks.
- Light exercise can begin after 3-4 weeks.
- Strenuous exercise can begin after 4-6 weeks.
- If you are still sore, limit your activity.
- A follow up visit will be scheduled 4-6 weeks following surgery.
- A sperm count will be ordered 8-12 weeks following surgery.
